The word jewellery itself is derived from the word jewel, which was gotten from the Old French word "jouel", meaning plaything. The first signs of established jewellery making in Ancient Egypt was around 3,000–5,000 years ago. The Egyptians preferred the luxury, rarity, and workability of gold over other metals. Jewellery soon began to symbolise political and religious power in the community. China, the United States and India were the three most important jewelry markets in the world as of 2016, with market values of around 112, 62, and 41 billion U.S. dollars respectively.
Jewellery is a universal form of adornment. Jewellery made from shells, stone and bones survives from prehistoric times. Both men and women love to use Jewelry because it gives one that royal look. Earrings are the most popular type of jewelry, round cut stones reign supreme and bigger is better! That's what more than 3,700 women say when asked about their favorite jewelry.

When using jewelry, there are few tips one has to consider. I've put together a few of them to ensure you look fabulous anytime you want to rock that jewelry, be it to a party, hangout, wedding or any other event you have in mind.
First things first, choose jewelry/accessories that speak to your personality. Your jewelry/accessories tells a lot about your personality and they are just as important as your outfit and makeup. Avoid using too many jewelry at a time as it makes you look so un-fashionable.
If you enjoy making a statement, then definitely pick statement pieces for your outfit. A number of designers offer fabulous shoes and bags that speak to various personalities so don't hold back.

The next tip is, Color. Most Nigerian brides like to wear coral jewelry as it is a very traditional look, however, there are so many more stones in a variety of shapes and colors that you can explore. Choose a color that suits your complexion.
The final tip has to do with the details on your outfit. If you are going for an occassion, With the ongoing trend of bedazzled blouse(buba) and wrapper(iro) you want your jewelry to compliment your outfit. If your outfit has pearls on it, going with a pearl necklace is a good option. The color of the details on your outfit is just as important as the base color of the outfit. Avoid shady colors and choose a color that will compliment your outfit.
The most important tip of all is to buy a jewelry you can very much afford as not to incur debt. You can add some of these jewelry to your collection.
