This kind of foods as well as those others that are consumed by mere swallowing without chewing are known as swallow.

These foods known as swallow are usually heavy and consuming them at night before bed, though is something a lot of people love to do may have a wrong result in people with some medical conditions. 2 of those conditions include.

1. Acid reflux

Acid reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux is a medical condition that affects the upper gastrointestinal tract.

It is characterized by regurgitation of the contents of the stomach back into the oesophagus. The oesophagus is the narrow tube connecting the mouth to the stomach. In the stomach, there is usually an acid that helps in breakdown of foods.

When you consume heavy foods at night and thereafter head to your bed for sleep, your body would only rely on the function of this gastric acid so as to breakdown such foods. This could lead to excess production of this gastric acid and this could result to increase in the chances of regurgitation.

2. Indigestion

There are people whose digestive system are relatively slow. To those people, breakdown and digestion of foods would take much longer time in comparison to those with a normal digestive system. Such people, taking heavy foods like Eba and the rest of them before bed could be wrong because there is a possibility such foods won't breakdown or digest and this can lead to a condition that may feel uncomfortable for such a person.
