Eating White Rice More Than Twice A Week Poses Health Risk

White rice is a popular dish not only in Nigeria, but also in India, America, China and some other parts of the world. Many people eat this delicacy too much without knowing it poses health risk.

According to a study from the Harvard School of Public Health, those who consume much of white rice are at a greater risk of having type 2 diabetes. White doesn't have much nutritional value like the brown rice, brown rice contains lots of fiber, vitamins and magnesium and deficiencies in this nutrient could increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Although eating lots of other carbohydrate food and one's gene also comes to play, but it is imperative you watch the food you eat. Medical experts advises that eating rice once or twice a week is okay as anything more than this becomes too much.

According to CBS news, a study shows that rice may contain a high level of arsenic, this chemical is dangerous to the human body and a high doses of it could lead to cancer.

Remember that eating right is staying healthy, minimize your rice in take as well as other foods high in carbohydrate.
