Custard powder originated as a Boon for people who wanted an alternative to eggs. It looks a lot like corn flour, the reason being that the base used is cornstarch along with some flavourings.
To make a perfect custard powder we need this few ingredients:
Corn starch (corn flour)
Egg yolk flavour or powdered yellow food colouring. ( For the perfect yellow colour)
Place the milk powder, corn flour, vanilla and egg yolk in a food processor or mix with your hands, don't forget to wear a glove. Mix for 10 seconds, you can also make use of your blender to make it fast.
Second step: tip it into an airtight container and it can store for as long as the expiration date on your powdered milk.
For perfect preparation of your custard, scoop the quantity you desire into a plate or bowel, add some water and mix till lumps disappear, bring your water to a boil 100 degree, then pour it into the raw custard slowly till it thickens.
Or you can try this, scoop desired quantity into a sauce pan add a little water, then liquid milk and sugar, stir till the lumps are gone, then start cooking, stir continuously till it thickens. Your custard is ready
