How Garlic May Protect Against Cold

Garlic is not unpopular in the culinary world. Its consumption is very common among many tribes of Nigeria, as it does not only improve the taste of meals, but it also benefits health in numerous ways. Findings show that it has the ability to improve blood pressure level. But before that, there is a condition that is known as stroke. Stroke is characterized by loss of brain functions. This occurs when there is an interruption in the supply of blood to the brain; this causes brain activities to seize. You should know that stroke may lead to death. You should also know that failing to manage blood pressure level may increase your risk of stroke, probably because high blood pressure interferes with the functions of the heart. But the consumption of garlic may help to avert this danger that is associated with high blood pressure. Findings also show that garlic may prevent common illnesses such as cold.

For starters, some experts suggest that common illnesses manifest when the immune system is weak and cannot perform its functions as it should. The immune system is the system that handles the protection of cells, tissues, organs, and other systems of the body. When this system fails to perform its functions as it should, common illnesses including cold begin to manifest. There are also conditions that result from bacterial invasion. Bacteria can only find their way into the body when the immune system fails in its functions. Boosting the functions of the immune system does not only prevent cold, but also protect you from bacterial invasion.

Findings show that garlic has the ability to boost immune functions. Even though there are little studies that show how garlic can do this, experts recommend that you consume it to prevent cold. (According To Healthline, On The 5th Of May, 2022, "Garlic supplements are known to boost the function of the immune system. A large, 12-week study found that a daily garlic supplement reduced the number of colds by 63 percent compared with a placebo.")
