Steps on how to prepare coconut cocoyam dessert with just 2 ingredients in your home. 

INGREDIENTS 

1. 1 cup of grated cocoyam.

2. 3/4 cup of coconut milk + a little extra to plate

3. 3 tablespoons of condensed milk + a little extra to plate

4. 3 tablespoons of sugar 

5. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

6. 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder

7. Banana leaves for wrap. 

8. 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate 

9. A handful of chin chin (crushed) 

10. Berries for garnish 


THE DIRECTIONS 


.... In a bowl, mix your grated cocoyam, coconut milk, condensed milk, sugar, cinnamon powder and ginger powder. 

.... Then fold the banana leaves and scoop your mixture into it. Now, lay the filled banana leaf in the pot that will be used to steam it. You can also make a pouch out of foil paper and use that instead. 

.... When you have wrapped all your mixture, place into a pot on low heat with a little water and steam it for 20 minutes. Ensure to periodically check on the water levels and top up as needed. 

.... When your cocoyam is set, take it out of the pot and unwrap the leaves, allowing it to sit for a little time to cool down. 

.... To plate, mix your leftover coconut milk and condensed milk in equal parts and let that form the base of your dessert. 

.... Place your sweetened cocoyam in your plate and top with the melted chocolate, crushed chin chin and the coconut and condensed milk mix. Throw in some berries to garnish it.
