6 Pictures That Will Teach You How To Prepare A Delicious Pot Of BITTER LEAF SOUP

Today's Recipe came late right?? So sorry!! I've had a lot on my plate recently.. So, we are learning how to make Bitter Leaf soup today... This is one of the most nutritious Nigerian soup you should eat and also know how to prepare... It's from the Eastern part of Nigeria.. Our Igbo Brethren, I don't want to talk plenty... just go through the pictures. I hope it inspires you to make something special for yourself or use as a surprise for that Igbo loved ones in your life.


LIST OF INGREDIENTS

Goat meat

Shaki(cow tripe)

Cocoyam

Smoked fish

Stock fish

Bitter leaf(washed)

Ground crayfish

Pepper(Atarodo)

Palm oil

Seasoning and salt

Ogiri(optional)

STEP 1

Pour the cocoyam in a pot(Peeled/Unpeeled)leave to boil(without salt) bring it out when it's soft, pour in a blender or a mortar, blend or pound to a paste and set aside...

STEP 2

Get a pot, pour the goat meat and cow tripe, add some salt, add your seasoning, allow it to boil in its own juice first, add some water

and leave to boil...

STEP 3

When the goat meat and cow tropes is tender... Pour the assorted fish, add some ground pepper, pour your crayfish,

STEP 4

Put the ogiri Igbo(note as I said earlier its optional), add some water, add the cocoyam paste in small lumps, pour some palm oil and close the pot to boil

STEP 5

When it's cooked and paste dissolved... Put the bitter leaf, add more crayfish(optional), taste and adjust seasoning and salt, leave to boil for few minutes. Serve and enjoy with your favorite swallow.
