Why You Should Prefer Eating Eggs to Beans. (Opinion)


Eggs is one of the known proteinous foods and are said to be the perfect food because they contain a little bit of almost every nutrients you need. A single large boiled egg contains:

• Folate

• Vitamin A

• Vitamin B5

• Vitamin B2

• Vitamin B12

• Phosphorus

• Selenium

• Trace elements that are important for health.

Eggs also contain a little amount of Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Zinc and Calcium. They are high in Cholesterol which doesn't have adverse effects on Blood Cholesterol for the majority of people. A single egg contains 212 mg, which is over half of the daily requirement or recommended intake of 300 mg.

Eating Eggs consistently leads to high level of HDL (High Density Lipo-protein) which is known as the good cholesterol and it is linked to a lower risks of many diseases.

The egg yolk contains antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthin which are major benefits for eye health and reduces the risk of two common eye disorders, Cataract and Macular degeneration.

Eggs are high in quality protein with all the Essential Amino acids in the right ratios. Proteins are the building blocks of the human body which makes all forms of tissues and molecules that serve both structural and functional purposes. Eating enough protein can help with weight loss, increase muscle mass and also lowers blood pressure.


Beans are also a wide known group of proteinous foods which provides a myriad health benefits and fits into several food groups. Beans provide little or no fat and are low in Cholesterol, infact they lower cholesterol and triglycerides level.

Beans are "heart healthy" i.e they are healthy to the heart, because they contain a large amount of soluble fibre and also they balance blood sugar, because beans are digested slowly which helps to keep blood glucose stable.

Beans promotes health and reduces the risk of some chronic diseases like Cancer due to the high amount of fibre and antioxidants in them. They are also metabolize more slowly than other complex carbs which aids in weight loss.
