Three Nigerian soups you can cook with just 500 naira

We all know the condition in the country now and the hardships people are passing through. Indeed, these are trying times and managing is a must for the people with little money to survive with. So with that being said, here are the three different Nigerian soups you can cook with as little as 500 naira in your pocket or purse. 


1. Okra soup.

Items you will need:

- Okra 100 naira

- pumpkin leaf 50 naira

- Red palm oil 50 naira 

- Crayfish 50 naira

- local maggi 20 naira

- Pepper 20 naira (it could be dried or fresh pepper)

- Seasoning 10 naira

- Cow skin 100 naira

- White garri 2 cups 100 naira 

Total : 500 naira

P.s.. I didn't add the cost of salt because people usually have salt at home or can easily collect a little from a neighbour..


2. Low budget Vegetable soup

Items you will need:

- Pumpkin leaf 100 naira

- Cow skin 100 naira

- Smoked fish 100 naira

- Crayfish 50 naira

- Red palm oil 50 naira

- Periwinkle 50 naira

- pepper 20 naira

- Local maggi 20 naira

- Seasoning 10 naira

Total cost: 500 naira

- You already have salt at home, if not , borrow from your neighbor or cancel mfi and use the money to buy salt


 3. Achi soup

Items you will need:

- Ground Achi powder 50 naira

- Crayfish 50 naira 

- Mfi 50 naira

- Cow skin 50 naira

- Hot leaf 50 naira

- red palm oil 50 naira

- Pepper 20 naira

- Local maggi 20 naira

- Seasoning 10 naira

- Dried or smoked fish or broken stock fish 150 naira

Total: 500 naira

- You already have salt at home, and if you dont have, borrow from your neighbor.
