How to make chin chin

Chin Chin is a very delicious snack, eating by many Nigerians,a deep fried crunchy snack that is originated from West African countries Nigeria,Ghana and Cameroon.

Chin Chin is the officially snack in Nigerian wedding, Schools and also the officially Christmas and sallah snacks.

I remembered the time when my Grandmother tough me how to make a Nigerian Chin Chin,may her soul rest in peace.

Ingredients

The ingredients here serve 10 peoples.

Wheat flour 10 cups

Sugar 2 cups

Butter 222 grams

Sugar 2 cups

Iodized salt 2 table spoons

Baking powder Optional

Eggs 2 large

Milk 2 tin

Cinnamon powder 1 table spoon

Nut meg 1 table spoon

Preparation step


Step 1

You have to find a bowl in the bowl,combine the dry ingredients, flour, iodized salt, sugar, baking powder Optional, cinnamon powder and nutmegs and stir throughly.

Step 2

Combine the dry ingredients and the butter, make sure the butter is cold and solid.

Step 3

Find another bowl, mix the milk and the egg together and whisk.

Step 4

Use a dough mixer to combine the dry ingredients and butter, milk, egg mix to form a dough, then find a pastry board and roll the dough until it is flat.

Step 5

Cut the dough horizontally and vertically to form little square and prevent the square from sticking together.

Step 6

The last step is frying, deep-fried the dough squares until it is turn to Golden brown.

Note

To avoid soaking of oil, make sure you do not overcrowd the oil with a dough and make sure you have enough oil to fry the dough to avoid your Chin Chin from soaking oil.
