Healthy Nigerian Meals That Can Be Eaten As Breakfast

Breakfast is the most recognised and important meal of the day. Reason for this, is that, it determines how well one will successfully get through the day.

Moreover, the other reasons one should take breakfast seriously and eat healthy foods, is because it plays a strong part on "how your mood, appetite, energy, digestion, among" other things will function accordingly.

Due to this, you must consume foods that have the necessary nutrients in them for your body to function well. And to add to that, reseach has proven that, people who do not skip breakfast and they ensure they have it always, will not find themselves being overweight.

Unfortunately, many Nigerians have fallen into the habit of skipping breakfast, for one reason or the other, which is risky and not healthy.

In this article, I will present some of best Nigerian recipes that are very healthy and delicious for breakfast. And these foods will definitely give you enough energy to get you through each day.

1. Dodo and Eggs

The combination of Fried Plantain and Egg is so delicious and healthy. It is loved and taken to be Nigerian's most healthiest food. Furthermore, it is so easy to prepare with little ingredients required.

2. Omelette and Bread roll

Bread and egg for breakfast, is a meal that is eaten world wide. You could say, it is quite common. And here in Nigeria, it is consumed a lot also. Eating this food combination gives your body the accurate nutrients it needs to function properly.

3. Yam and Egg

Yam and egg is another perfect combination. The eggs can either be boiled or fried, to your taste. At the end of it all, it is a healthy breakfast choice for everyone. Preparing it is very easy and most importantly, it gives you a satiety level of feeling; making you fuller for a longer period of time. Nigerians may not know, but Yam and Egg is said to be gluten-free.

4. Bread and Beans

A lot of people do love eating bread and beans. But they might not desire it as an option for breakfast. Either way it is a healthy meal. The benefits of beans, is that it keeps you full all day long, while still giving you the required nutrients to keep your body functioning effectively. The best of it all, is that the meal is so easy to prepare.

5. Akamu and Akara or Moin Moin

"Akamu, often regarded as Ogi or Pap in Yoruba and English respectively", is a locally processed food that carries great health benefits. People often combine it with Beans cake which they call as Akara or Moin Moin.

With all this, it forms a list of healthy breakfast options that you can choose from, to kick start your day.
