Healthy with Garlic: Bye to it's offensive smell

Garlic is a plant in the onion family that’s grown for its distinctive taste and health benefits. It contains sulfur compounds, which are believed to bring some of the health benefits.

It has numerous health benefits which we tend to underestimate due to it's strong and sometimes offensive smell but are you gonna let it's smell stand in the way of your good health? Remember prevention is better than cure!

Some of the many benefits includes:

1. ANTIFUNGAL

Garlic has been known to treat athlete foot, ringworm, Jocks itch when rubbed on the area affected. It could also treat Candida albicans when ingested.

Highdoses of garlic appear to improve blood pressure for those with known high blood pressure (hypertension). In some instances, supplements may be as effective as regular medications.

Get any essential oil of choice say a 100ml. Put your chopped garlic into the jar containing the oil, cover and shake vigorously for 2minutes, allow to seat for 2-3days and your garlic oil is ready. All you need do, is shake before using.

It is suitable for all parts of the body and ingestible too. The sulphur in the garlic will prevent/cure dandruff while giving you a fuller, longer and healthier hair.

PS: It is not usually advisable to heat the garlic in the oil as a form of extraction because heat destroys the useful minerals except you're careful to do that on a very low heat for 3-5minutes.

10. Aids in digestion and quick metabolism.

11. Helps in treatment of Skin issues like scar fainting/removal, treatment of acne/pimples, blackheads etc

Simply crush some cloves and rub the juice on affected area, it's going to give you some little burning sensation for a few seconds but believe me, it works magic.

You can use garlic effectively without smelling by simply using them in your food, ingesting garlic oil or taking them with honey.

Take milk afterwards, eat an apple.



You could also make a honey infused garlic by chopping a good number of garlic into a jar of honey. One teaspoon morning and night does the magic! If you still feel you can't handle the smell, there are now garlic capsules and supplements in Marts and Pharmacies.
