Melons are fruit which are of high value in the world, it is sweat refreshing, and  nourishing as well, Raji and orelaja defines golden melon as a sizable, bright –yellow melon with a pale green to white inner flesh. Golden melon is a fruit originally from Europe and Africa. Golden melon is in the family of cucurbitaceae(cucurbit) with botanical name cucumis, this fruit measures approximately 14 to 20cm long, the flesh is light white in colour and tastes very sweet with small brownish seed inside.

Benefit of golden melon: golden melon is loaded with minerals and vitamins such as vitamin C and A, calcium, zinc, vitamin B6, fiber, potassium and omega 3 and 6. All these nutrients are needed in the body in their right proportion.

* prevents cardiovascular disease: vitamin B6 present in golden melon help our bodies produce serotonin ,this serotonin released in the body helps to convert homocysteine and amino acids into substance .this is very important as studied an increased homocysteine level are potential cause of cardiovascular disease, the omega 3 and 6 present also helps in keeping a healthy heart.

*prevents constipation: golden melon is rich in dietary fiber which is very effective in aiding easy digestion of food and for prevention of constipation, the fruit which contains a lot of water help to keep the body hydrated as well.

Regulates the blood pressure:  golden melon helps regulate blood pressure levels in the body due to the presence of potassium in it. Studies reveal that potassium releases signals in the body which helps stimulate the muscles contraction and as such our body depends on this vitamin.
