Hilda Baci Completes 100hrs Of Marathon Cooking

Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci has surpassed the 96-hour target and has now achieved a 100-hour record time.

Supporters at the cook-a-thon competition, taking place at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, are at the moment sharing videos of themselves cheering the young chef as well as celebrating her for achieving the milestone.

Hilda was initially scheduled to stop at 4 pm today culminating in her former 96-hour target surpassing the current Guinness World Record holder for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”.

DSS Must Not Allow Emefiele Flee—Onoh

Dr. Josef Onoh, the South-East spokesman for the “President-elect”, Bola Tinubu, has warned the Department of State Services (DSS) not to allow the embattled Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, to leave Nigeria for any study leave abroad.

SaharaReporters last week reported that there is a plot to allow Emefiele travel out of Nigeria for a study leave abroad to escape the likely prosecution by the incoming government.

Many people believe that the CBN Governor wants to escape from Nigeria before Tinubu's inauguration on May 29, as it is believed that Tinubu and Emefiele are not on friendly terms in view of the naira redesign policy and scarcity.

According to The Nation, Onoh said, “I’m telling the DSS that whether the study leave is true or not, it should ensure that Emefiele does not leave Nigeria.

PDP hopeful of victory at Presidential tribunal – Okowa’s aide

Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, on Sunday, assured members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the party was hopeful of victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

Solomon gave the assurance at the victory thanksgiving organised by the state PDP youths in honour of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the state Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Boji-Boji, Owa, Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.

He said that while the party was confident of victory at the Presidential tribunal, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state stood no chance of upturning the PDP’s victory at the state governorship election tribunal.

Solomon who represented Governor Okowa at the ceremony, assured that those who worked for the victory of the party would definitely receive their reward and advised those blackmailing others to desist from the ugly and wicked act.

The United States says it has imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 general elections.

In a short tweet on Monday, the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, announced that the government of the United States of America had imposed Visa restrictions on the specific individuals even though it failed to disclose their names.

Prior to the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, and March 18, governorship and State Assembly elections, the US government had warned it would impose visa sanctions on people who tried to undermine Nigeria’s democratic process in 2023.
