How To Make Egg Roll At Home In 5 Easy Steps

Egg roll is among the popular and most eaten snack in Nigeria.

Today I'll be sharing with you 5 simple steps you can use to make egg roll at home even if you've never done it before or you are a total beginner.

Before that, here are a list of recipes I make use of for preparing my egg rolls:

i. Flour

ii. Baking Powder

iii. Sugar

iv. Salt

v. Margarine

vi. Boiled egg

vii. Nutmeg

viii. Water and

ix. Groundnut oil.


How To Make Egg Roll At Home Using These 5 Steps

The following below are 5 easy steps I use and which you too can use to make your egg roll at home even if it's your first time doing it.


STEPS

1. In a bowl, pour your flour and create a gap in the middle where you'll then add your baking powder, salt, sugar, margarine and nutmeg to it and mix properly.

2. Pour about 5 table spoon of warm water and mix properly to form dough.

Note: Mixing of all the ingredients listed here should be done by hand. The dough must not be hard or soft.

All the recipes I listed here have their respective measurements which is actually based on the quantity of egg roll you wish to make. I'll be posting the measurements soon, so make sure you follow my page to get update on that.

3. Cut a handful of dough and place it on a plain surface be it a board or a clean table whichever you prefer. Use a roller to roll out the dough about 1 inch thick (just like the image below).

4. Using a bowl, cut out circles by gently pressing on the dough and releasing it. Gently wrap the dough around the boiled egg.

Pinch the bottom and make sure there are no cracks or openings. Set the egg roll aside, cover it and allow to rest for about 30 minutes.

5. Heat up a frying pan or pot, pour the vegetable oil inside the pan.

Note:- oil should up to 2 inches high.

Heat until it gets hot. Gently drop the scotch egg in the pan preferably with a spoon, turn only once until it's slightly brown. This should take you about 5 - 8 minutes to do.

After that, remove the scotch egg with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel.

If you've gotten to this final step (step 5), then congratulations your egg roll is ready to be served.

Serve warm or at room temperature with any fruit-juice to go with it...!
