Why You Should Reduce The Amount Of Seasoning Cubes You Use While Cooking.

Everyone is definitely very familiar with seasoning cubes. It is one the most popular food spices or ingredients in the world. People can hardly cook a single dish, these days, without adding two or more seasoning cubes inside the pot or frying pan.

No doubt, they are great because they help to improve the taste and aroma of a meal. However, excess consumption of seasoning cubes is very dangerous to the body. According to Webmd and Medline plus, here are 3 reasons why;

1. Seasoning cubes have a very high sodium(salt) content that could damage the kidney and liver. An average seasoning cube contains about 2.5 grams of salt which is too much for consumption. Yet people go as far as using more than 3 cubes while cooking just to make their food more delicious. This is very dangerous because it puts some of your important body organs at risk especially the liver and the kidneys.


2. Excess intake of seasoning cubes have been associated with a rise in blood pressure. A lot of high blood pressure or hypertension patients are fond of using too much seasoning cubes while cooking, according to research. Like I said earlier this seasoning cubes contains a lot of salt and other ingredients which can easily lead to a spike in blood pressure of the body.

3. Seasoning cubes contains lots of toxic compounds. An average seasoning cube processed in factories usually contain the following compounds; salt, monosodium glutamate (MSG), hydrogenated palm oil, cornstarch, dehydrated beef or fish, sugar, caramel, artificial colors, powder flavor, disodiuminosinate, spices, and preservatives. Almost all these ingredients are very harmful and this makes seasoning cubes unhealthy.

According to research and studies by experts from the World Health Organization and other agricultural bodies, excess consumption of seasoning cubes are very dangerous to the body. And i just listed some of the diseases or medical condition it could cause. Sadly, so many people are very ignorant of this fact. Most people are fond of adding about 6 cubes of seasoning while preparing 1 or 2 cups of jollof rice. Shocking isn't? But it happens.
