4. Smoked seafood
Smoked and refrigerated seafood which are labeled as lox, jerky and kippered as they contain Listeria monocytogene bacteria. This bacteria causes Listeriosis which is associated with symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting that can lead to illness in new born even miscarriage or stillbirth.
Besides, seafoods contains high amounts of salt which can lead to high blood pressure and swelling of the feet.
High level of caffeine can increase the risk of miscarriage, low birth weight and experiencing a difficult birth. Caffeine is naturally found in lots of foods like coffee, tea and chocolate, and it's added to some soft drinks and energy drinks. Some cold and flu remedies also contains caffeine. Talk to your midwives, doctors or pharmacist before taking this remedies.
6. Unpasteurized milk
Unpasteurized milk or raw milk is unsafe to drink during pregnancy. It has no nutritional advantages, and raw milk and it's products accounts for a high proportion of food borne diseases.
They contain harmful bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria and Crystosporadium that can be dangerous to you and your baby.
7. Processed junk food
Pregnancy is a time of rapid growth. Your body needs increased amounts of many essential nutrients including proteins, iron, folate. An optimal pregnancy diet should mainly consists of Whole foods, fruits and vegetables with lots of water.
