Dough products are products made from flour, yeast and other ingredients. These are products that are not commonly seen in snack shops but are specially ordered or can be made specially for your family.

When you have special occasions, these products can be part of your menu as I bet you. Your guest will bow to your menu.

Fruit Buns

Flour(2 milk tins), milk and powder (enough to mix), yeast (1 teaspoon), egg(1), butter/margarine(1 tablespoon), castor sugar (2 tablespoons), dried fruits and mixed spices(3 tablespoons for dried fruits and 2 teaspoons for mixed spices.

Procedure: sieve your flour into a mixing bowl, put your yeast in another bowl, sprinkle flour on it and a little water, keep aside in a warm place to ferment. Make a well in the center of the flour, add the beaten egg, rub in your butter/margarine and sugar. Mix very well and also add your fermented yeast. Knead until it forms a soft dough, smooth and without stickiness. Keep covered and allow to rise in a warm place. After the first rise, knead again as you mix your dried fruits and a little mixed spices to the dough. Mould the dough into 6-8 round balls. Place on a greased baking pan, cover with a cloth and allow to rise again. Bake in an oven for 20 minutes. Brush on the buns, a buns wash immediately it is baked.

Note:

A buns wash is prepared by boiling one milk cup of sugar, milk and a little water. Boil until it forms a thick syrup.

Bath Buns

Flour(2 milk tins), milk and powder (enough to mix), yeast (1 teaspoon), egg(1), butter/margarine(1 tablespoon), castor sugar (2 tablespoons), dried fruits (half milk cup currants and sultanas), mixed peels (1/4 milk cup), sugar nibs(1/4 milk cup).

Procedure: sieve your flour into a mixing bowl, put your yeast in another bowl, sprinkle flour on it and a little water, keep aside in a warm place to ferment. Make a well in the center of the flour, add the beaten egg, rub in your butter/margarine and sugar. Mix very well and also add your fermented yeast. Knead until it forms a soft dough, smooth and without stickiness. Keep covered and allow to rise in a warm place. After the first rise, knead again as you mix your half milk cup dried fruits washed (currants and sultanas) and 1/4 of mixed peels,1/4 sugar nibs to the dough. Mould the dough into 6-8 round balls. Place on a greased baking pan, and sprinkle with a little broken loaf sugar and sugar nibs. Bake for 20 minutes also, and enjoy.

The ingredients you needs for these can be gotten in big baking shops and super markets.

This buns can make a good impression on your guests at home or in any celebrations.
