Things That Can Prevent You From Having Diabetes

According to Healthline, Diabetes, is a metabolic disease that results in high blood sugar. The hormone insulin transports sugar from the blood into your cells to be stored or used for energy. With diabetes, your body either doesn’t make sufficient insulin or can’t effectively use the insulin it does make.Untreated high blood sugar from diabetes can harm the nerves, eyes, kidneys, and other organs.

In this article we will be looking at ways that can help you prevent diabetes:

1. Eating healthy food 

Select foods lower in fat and calories and elevated in fibre. Concentrate on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

2. Losing weight 

Forfeiting a reasonable amount of weight and keeping it off can delay the advancement from prediabetes to type 2 diabetes. If you have prediabetes, losing 6.9% to 10% of your body weight can reduce the risk of diabetes.

3. Avoiding inactivity for a long period

Crouching still for a long duration can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Try to get up every 30 minutes and move around for at least a few minutes.

4. Getting active 

Aim for at least 140 or more minutes a week of reasonable to effective aerobic activity, such as a brisk walk, bicycling, running, or swimming.
