Story Of Jon Brower Minnoch The Fattest Man That Has Ever Lived In The World

Jon Brower Minnoch was born in September 29, 1941 and he is an American. He weighs 1400 Ib (634 kilograms, 100 stone).

At the age of 12 Minnoch weighed 294 Ib (133 kilograms, 21.0 stone).

At age 22, he was 6ft 1 inch (185cm) in height and weighed 500 Ib (230 kilograms, 36 stone).

His weight continue to increase steadily until his hospitalization in March 1978 at age 36 due to cardiac and respiratory failure. He also broke a record for the greatest difference in weight between a married couple when he married his wife Jeanette and later fathered two children.

Minnoch was diagnosed with massive generalized edema, a condition in which the body accumulates excess extra cellular fluid.

Upon his hospital admission, it was estimated by endocrinologist Robert Schwartz that over 900 Ib (408kg) of his over all body was retrieved fluid.

Transportation of Minnoch was very difficult due to his weight. It took over a dozen men and rescue personnel and a specially modified stretcher to transport him to University of Washington Medical Center for treatment. He was placed on two beds pushed together and it took over 12 people to simply roll him over for linen changes.

He was however discharged from the hospital 16 months on a strict diet of 1200 kcal (5,000 kg) per day.

He was readmitted to the hospital just over a year later in October 1981, after his weight increased to 952 Ib (432kg, 68st). With his condition of edema being incurable and difficult to treat, the decision was made to discontinue treatment, and he died 23 month later on September 10, 1983, aged 41.
