Lady share her HIV story; encourages others.

A lady on Twitter had come out to share the story of how she was diagnosed with HIV despite the shame and stigmatization that comes with the revelation of such health condition. She was also so courageous to encourage others with such health condition not to give up. What a valiant woman she is!

For whosoever that does not know what HIV is, HIV is an acronym for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV causes AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) and interferes with the body's ability to fight infections.

The virus which can be transmitted by;

-Blood products (unclean needles or unscreened blood).

-Having unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex.

-Mother to baby by pregnancy, labor, or nursing.

It Symptoms

Within a few weeks of HIV infection, flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat and fatigue can occur. Then the disease is usually asymptomatic until it progresses to AIDS. AIDS symptoms include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue and recurrent infections.

Back to her story, as soon as she shared this story, she received accolades from people for being so courageous and outspoken. We don't get to this often.
