Bitter kola has been used over the years to fight infections from the common cold to hepatitis and some other health conditions that have been proven to be cured by eating bitter kola according to medical practitioners includes:
1. Infections: Research had proven that bitter kola can help combat coughs, bacterial infections, and other viral infections. Eating bitter kola when an infection starts or whenever you notice any symptom of an infection, may help fight the infection and make you feel better more quickly.
2. Inflammation: Bitter kola seeds have commonly been chewed on in Africa to fight against ailments like inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. I'm a recent study, it was proven that patients with osteoarthritis in their knees showed significantly reduced inflammation when eating bitter kola compared to a placebo. This great success can be attributed to high levels of potassium in bitter kola which may be a contributing factor in reducing inflammation.
3. Diabetes: Medical science suggests that a chemical called kolaviron, which is found in bitter kola, may protect against hypoglycemia in people with type 2 diabetes. Although this first study was done on rats and has not yet been reproduced on humans, these early findings they say are more promising and could help in managing diabetes.
This is just like the tip of the iceberg as compared to some of the wonders of some African plants and herbs and if thorough research is being carried out, we could have a cure to most of the ailments for most of the health conditions ravaging the world today.
