A woman identified as Oluwadamilare Aremu recently recounted the fatal accident she had, and how she almost took her life because of the pains. This lady lamented and accused the hospital for being responsible for her amputation. Aremu told punch news how she was involved in an accident on December 2018 on the way leading to third mainland bridge.
This lady said she was admitted to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), and the doctors in the hospital promised her that she would walk with her legs again. The doctors conducted two surgeries on her in 2019, the doctors told her she needed a third surgery. She was sent home to get money for her third surgery, according to her she was broke and had spent all her money in the hospital.
After one week she returned with some money for the third surgery, and she was so much in pain but LASUTH did not carry out the surgery they keep shifting the date for the surgery. From 2019 till 2020 the third surgery was still pending, before she visited another hospital in October 2020.
Later she was advised to amputate the leg because it was not properly taken care of, and the surgery got carried out in 2021 and her legs got cut off. She opened up to punch newspaper stating that the pain she suffered was unbearable and that she wanted to commit suicide because of it.
She further said she want justice for what LASUTH did to her leg, though she has been amputated she still feels weak and cannot walk without support and for this she demand justice.
