Aging refers to progressive physiological changes in an organism that lead to decline of biological functions and of the organism’s ability to adapt to metabolic stress. Aging is inevitable and that is why everyone needs to be prepared for it.
Once you begin to age, the body begins to become susceptible to infections and diseases more than ever before. That is why at this stage of your life, you need to cut off many lifestyle and diet which are no longer favorable and healthy. So many people go about doing all sort of things and consuming all kinds of foods expecting their body systems to handle it as it has always done decades back when there were younger but this is not right.
Aging comes with age-related illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure and other debilitating disease and that is why your diet needs to be carefully selected.
Once you clock 40, reduce your intake of these 3 foods.
1. Soft drinks and sodas
These products contain empty-calorie and that is why you need to reduce your intake of them as you age. Soft drinks and sodas are very high in caffeine fructose and refined sugar which are not healthy for the body. Soft drinks are loaded with artificial sweeteners like aspartame and saccharin which are dangerous to your health especially as you age. Studies has shown that too much intake of all these as you age can increase your risk of stroke.
Some research has shown that little alcohol is good for the body but no research has shown how avoiding alcohol can become hazardous to your body. Once you clock 40 years of age and above, consuming too much alcohol can increase the pressure on your kidney and liver which can result to other life threatening disease. If possible, stop consuming alcohol at this stage because your body system is already going weak.
Eating fries especially when you begin to age can lead to overweight and obesity. When you consume too much fries, it increases your overall calorie intake and this makes you gain weight. Fries can also trigger disease like arthritis and other bone –related conditions especially in women. Also try and reduce your intake of processed foods as you age for the sake of your health.
