Health Benefits of Boiled Brimstone Tree Leaves

1. Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties

Thanks to the presence of many phytochemicals and powerful antioxidant compounds and anti-inflammatory effects, oruwo leaves can help to fight against inflammation and help to fight infections, reduce swelling. Its antibacterial effect means it can also fight against bacterial-induced diseases and infections. It also possesses antiviral properties which can help fight diseases caused by viruses.

Oruwo leaves have often been used as an analgesic due to their ability to relieve pain thanks to some of the phytochemicals present in them which gives them analgesic properties.

3. Anti-anaemia properties

Consuming drinks made of oruwo leaves can also help to prevent the shortage of red blood cells, otherwise called anaemia. Its leaves extract possesses anti-anaemia properties due to its ability to increase both the erythropoietin and osmotic resistance of red blood cells.

Morinda lucida leaves also contain certain antipyretic properties which explain their potency in treating fever and fever-induced ailments such as yellow fever, fever from malaria, trypanosomiasis, and feverish condition during childbirth.
