A medical doctor has tested positive for coronavirus in Ekiti state.
He contacted the virus by treating a pregnant woman has the virus.
Meanwhile, there 15 others who had undergone the COVID-19 tests which their results yield to be negative,
However, the state government announced a medical Doctor to have been tested positive of COVID-19.
This was disclosed by the commissioner for Health, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, on Tuesday, April 21.
He said the medical Doctor was working in a Private hospital while he was attending to a third index case and now he has contacted the virus through the 29 years pregnant woman.
Going further, the commissioner also added that only one doctor tested positive, with 15 others turning out negative among the samples taken to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
He said we only have one doctor who was tested positive and has been under isolation and remaining 15 were tested negative to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, it's reported that despite all the containment efforts, coronavirus is fastly spreading across all states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
As reported on Tuesday, the virus has steadily speed to 21 states in the country which includes FCT,Kano and some under state.
The total confirmed cases stand at 665 with 188 people discharged after recovery. So far, 22 people have died from the disease.
He said also over 80000 sample has been tested in the country so far.
