At least three people have been confirmed dead and another 284 person have been confirmed hospitalized as Strange disease hit Kano State.
According to reports the disease is suspected to have been water borne and is spreading at a very fast rate. It was also reported that the person who have been dead and infected by this disease might have drank water from an unknown borehole drilled near a burial ground (cemetery).
The Commissioner for Health, Mr. Aminu Ibrahim- Tsanyawa who was also present at the Hospital confirmed the news of the disease and death to news men on Tuesday. He also added that the people affected has allegedly taken expired products of Citric Acid powered drinks and Jolly Jus fresh juice. He also emphasize on the product, saying it was already expired since last year and were still on sale in markets of Kano State.
The Consumer Protection Council has also lunched and investigation into the matter and has also commenced shop to shop search in all Shops in Kano State.
