What is high blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the force of your bloods it flows through the arteries in your body. Arteries are blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to the rest of the body. When your heart beats, it pushes blood through your arteries as the blood flows it puts pressure on your artery walls. If your blood stays too high for a long time, it can cause health problems and high blood pressure is also called hypertension.

Causes of high blood pressure

Age, genetics and food can cause high blood pressure. Common causes that can lead to high blood pressure includes:

a. Lack of physical activity.

b. Older age( the older you become, the more likely you are to have high blood pressure).

c. Being obese or overweight.

d. Tobacco or drinking much alcohol.

e. Too much of salt, fat or cholesterol.

f. Stress.

How can high blood pressure be prevented?

If your high blood pressure is caused by lifestyle, there are ways you can prevent it. These ways are

. Stop smoking.

. Lower your intake of salt.

. Do more of exercise.

. Eat healthy food.

. Reduce the alcohol consumption.

. Learn to relax.

. Don't over work yourself.

If your high blood pressure is caused by disease, try as much as possible to see your doctor.

How can it be cured or treated?

The best way to reduce your blood pressure, is to begin with the changes you can make to your lifestyle to help reduce the blood pressure. You can also meet your doctor to prescribe drugs to lower the blood pressure. Don't stop taking the drugs with talking to your doctor. And also go for checkup to know if it is reducing or increasing.
