She further told reporters that only 25 percent of government workers were required to physically report for duty, as she also tweeted it on her ministry account.
With the exception of health workers and designated key services, the government of Zimbabwe has directed all Ministries and commissions to reduce the number of employees at work from "40% to 10%." The number of Covid-19 cases in Zimbabwe has increased dramatically, with the number of positive cases jumping from 8,000 to more than 21,000. So far, 2,697 people are still alive and 86,000 people have been infected with the virus. Of the 14.8 million people in Zimbabwe, only 1.1 million received the first dose, while more than 640,000 received the second jab.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe has taken a number of measures to help reduce the spread of the virus, including reducing shopping time, delaying school reopening, limiting attendance at gatherings including funerals, and restricting intercity travel.
