3 Health Challenges Aged People Will Most Likely Develop With Time

When people hear of chronic diseases, they immediately think they are diseases that can't be cured or prevented. This is untrue as most chronic diseases can be treated and their risk can be reduced with simple habits. The problem is that most people are not aware of how to prevent these medical conditions.

You must learn about prevention methods rather than waiting to have these diseases and then trying to get medications to cure them like they say "prevention is better than cure". Don't just learn about how to prevent these diseases, you should also be determined to practice them. In this article, I'll like to enlighten you about age-related diseases and how to prevent them according to WebMD

1. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Many people live with this disease for years without having any idea however its symptoms start showing when you're in your 40s or 50s. The disease makes inflammation prevent air from entering the lungs which results in difficulty in breathing, coughing, wheezing and spitting mucus. Exercise, a healthy diet and quitting smoking can help prevent this disease.

2. Chronic back pains

Chronic back pains is another disease that often affect old people. Several factors like overweight, smoking, not exercising and arthritis put you at higher risk of this disease. To strengthen your muscles you should eat more calcium and vitamin D-rich foods, watch your weight and exercise more often

3. Dementia

Most times dementia doesn't show forth unless you're 65 years or about that age. Dementia often associated with memory loss is caused by genes or hereditary which can't be controlled. However, eating healthily, and watching your blood pressure and blood sugar level will go a long way to help reduce your risk of having the disease
