From renovations of schools, commissioning of water projects, sharing of gift items to the vulnerable and lots more. This has not been the usual face of Bekwarra LGA.
The wife of the chairman, Mrs Lucy Owan Emeka has been in the business of making sure the girl child is never neglected. She has been of great support to her husband and the people of Bekwarra.
Some weeks ago she gave out lots of gift and food items to those with disabilities, albino's, old men and women and many others. This has been her way of letting the people know they are still part of the society irrespective of their health challenges.
Not less than 100 women has again been given another set of gifts by Mrs Lucy. The gift items which include rice, maggi, salt, groundnut oil, tomatoes, wrappers and lots more has put smiles and hope on the faces of the Bekwarra people.
According to Mrs Lucy, she can't be comfortable knowing that her people are in need. She would rather give her last to make sure her people are happy and satisfied.
"Gone are those days where people will seat in an office and forget the very people that supported them before they came into power, I will in my little way support my people. I know I don't have everything in the world, but the little I have and the little I can access, I will make sure every residents in Bekwarra LGA benefits from it". She said.
The event also featured dances and praise singing as women collects their packages from the Bekwarra first lady.
