Reason being that people suffering from diabetes are at a higher risk of suffering eye problems like glaucoma, cataract and even retinopathy i.e. nerve damages in the retina which can also threaten a person's vision. It is for this reason that people suffering from diabetes are always advised to go for tests.

2. Kidney Tests; this is done to ensure your kidneys are working well. Diabetes is one disease that is capable of affecting literally every organ in the human body with kidney, heart being the most easily affected organs. If you are suffering from diabetes, endeavour to see a doctor once every year atleast to check your urine for a protein called albumin and to know if your kidneys are working perfectly.

3. Blood Pressure; diabetes or high blood sugar level is very close to hypertension. A person suffering from diabetes should endeavour to run blood pressure tests regularly because you are at a much higher chances of having a higher blood pressure than normal due to diabetes. So make sure you check your blood pressure regularly also.
