How to know a healthy sperm

There are several factors that can determine the health of a sperm. According to the Medical News Today, below are some of the most important factors to know the heth of a sperm.

Sperm count. A healthy sperm count is considered to be at least 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen. The total volume of semen should be at least 2 milliliters.

Sperm motility. Sperm should be able to move forward in a straight line. At least 40% of the sperm should be motile.

Sperm morphology. The shape and size of the sperm should be normal. At least 4% of the sperm should have a normal shape.

Sperm viability. Sperm should be alive and able to fertilize an egg. At least 58% of the sperm should be viable.

DNA integrity. The DNA within the sperm should be intact and not damaged. This is important for the successful fertilization of an egg.

To determine the health of sperm, a semen analysis can be performed by a medical professional. This involves collecting a sample of semen and examining it under a microscope to assess the above factors.
