The rate at which secondary school students engage in sexual activities is now alarming. One would think it is influenced by certain teachers or male corpers serving in the schools. It is not surprising that these children especially in mixed secondary schools whose age range from 12 and 18 years would distribute themselves male-female and start making out right inside the classrooms after school hours. This fact is not limited to public schools alone, many private school folks are also in this category.
This is borne out of peer pressure among the students coming from different backgrounds, easy access to porn, and low self esteem which will want to push them into wanting to have a sense of belonging. Along their journey to adulthood, the female students already have multiple sexual partners.
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is now popular among other sexually transmitted infections as many researches have elucidated the dangers it could cause such as infertility and a more grievous consequence such as cervical cancer and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It has been observed that Chlamydia is a cofactor for HIV
You will want to know the meaning of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) right? Yeah....... PID is an infection of the upper genital tract, fallopian tube and the ovaries and it is more common among adult women including teenagers (12-18 years). This disease can be contacted through sexual contact such as the vaginal, oral, anal sexual contact as well as sharing sex toys.
Bacteria such as Chlamydia, Neisseria, and Mycoplasma are the most common causal organisms and they are usually re-occuring once a girl is infected. Girls who are exposed to sexual activities before the age of 25 years, having more than one sexual partner, unprotected sex and untreated PID can cause damage to the fallopian tubes resulting in reproductive health issues like, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, still birth and chronic pelvic pain.
Prevention is better than cure they say, early female sex education is vital for young girls who are still in secondary schools so as to ensure academic excellence, future marital problems and the spread of diseases including HIV/AIDs.
