Malnutrition causes the death of about 81 children

The Nasarawa state health officer Hajiya Halima Yusuf stated that in 5,200 children that were admitted in various hospitals in the state about 81 of them have died as a result poor balance diet.

Hajiya Halima Yusuf disclosed this in Nasarawa state during a dialogue on balance diet important to child growth.

The health care officer said from last August 2020 to date about 5,200 children were said to be affected by malnutrition across the 13 local government in the state.

She said about 2,000 recoved as confirmed by the health personals in the state but 81 die so far as a result of the poor diet.

The chairman on food and nutrition in Nasarawa state Mr Osama Abdul, who coincidencily happen to be the director of planing of the fiance ministry said about 3bn was requested by the state governor that awaiting approval.

Malnutrition is of the serious case and child killer problems that affecting the children mostly from the poor income parents in the society.
