Losing excess body weight requires patience and lots of hard work to get to your desired goal. Aside from engaging in physical activities, it requires a workable healthy diet plan. You cannot eat healthy one day, and reward yourself with lots of junk the next day and expect a reduction in calories.

However, if you are trying to lose weight, it is advisable to consume a diet rich in whole grains, lean meats, nuts and seeds, low-fat dairy products, fresh fruits as well as vegetables to lose weight the healthy way. Below are some fruits you should avoid if you are trying to lose weight.

1. Pineapple/Mango

These fruits are healthy with lots of health benefits. But eating them in large quantities could slow down your weight loss journey. It is best to practice portion control and lose weight the healthy way.

Fruits like pineapple and mango may have hidden calories that can hinder your weight loss plans. It is best to avoid these fruits that are too sweet.

2. Grapes

Grapes are loaded with sugar and fats, which makes them the wrong fruit to eat while on a strict weight loss diet or trying to lose weight. According to statistics 100 grams of grapes may contain 67 calories, and 16 grams of sugar, which means regular intake of grapes could cause weight gain and not the other way round.

3. Avocado pear

While avocado is a good source of healthy fats, it can increase the numbers on your weighing scale when consumed beyond reasonable amounts. This does not mean you eliminate it out of your diet, it is best to eat it in moderation.

4. Banana

With lots of benefits attached to eating banana one would wonder if there is any side effect. No doubt, banana is super-healthy, but it is one fruit you should not consume in excess. One banana has about 150 calories, which is about 37.5 grams of carbohydrates. However, bananas can make for a healthy snack when enjoyed in moderation.

Others may include dry fruits like prunes raisins because about a cup of prunes contains 450 calories while a cup of raisins contains 500 calories.
