OAT SWALLOW: Oats can be used as a healthy swallow option. It is lower in calories when compared to eba, amala and pounded yam. It can be served with any soup. To prepare this swallow, you can blend your quick oats into a powder form. Boil water and gently add your oat flour into the boiling water and stir until it solidifies. Allow it to cool and you can serve. You can also prepare it by using the wet method. It involves measuring your oats into the blender and adding warm water to it and blend. Pour it into your pot and cook in medium-low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is solidified.

OAT AS SOUP THICKENER: Oats can be used as a healthy soup thickener. Oats can be blended into smooth powder and added to soups and sauce to thicken them.
OATMEAL PANCAKES: Oats can be used as flour substitute when preparing your pancake. They can be ground into fine oat flour. To prepare this pancake, you can blend your oats together with other ingredients (egg, ripe banana, baking powder, vanilla extract, salt and water) until smooth. Heat your nonstick pan and place over medium heat. Add small oil or melted butter to your nonstick pan and place over medium heat. Add the pancake batter and cook until it is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for few minutes and your pancake is ready to be served.
CRUNCHY OAT CHICKEN STRIPS: Oats can also be used to prepare your crunchy chicken strips. Cut your chicken into thin size. Whisk together egg, ginger, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add your chicken slice into the mixture and mix evenly. Set aside for about 10-15 minutes. Add a little water and blend the oat for few seconds (but not into a smooth paste). Coat each chicken strip in the oat mixture. You can either bake in the oven or fry it.
