The kidneys are precious organs which help us filter and pass out urine. When the kidneys become bad, they can only be replaced with a new one (transplant) and this could be very expensive. The only way to avoid kidney transplant is by avoiding some habits that can cause cause kidney failure.

Here are 4 things that could damage your kidneys
1. Not drinking enough water.

On the flip side, when you don't take enough water, it's almost impossible for your kidneys to work well and this could cause damage.
2. Eating too much red meat.
Red meat (beef, pork or lamb) can cause severe damages to your kidneys. Studies have shown that people who eat red meat are at a higher chance of developing kidney failure.

Instead of eating red meat, opt for other proteinous foods like fish, poultry and the likes. However, if you have kidney disease, you should reduce your protein intake because excessive protein intake can stress your kidneys.
3. Eating too much salt.
Salt has the ability to retain water inside your system and this could make your kidneys less efficient in filtering your blood. If you want to maintain a healthy kidney, reduce your intake of salty foods like french fries, potato chips, processed meats and the likes.
