You Can Increase The Nutritional Benefits Of Pap By Drinking It With 6 Foods

There's a popular saying that tasty foods are not always healthy. I guess this is not always true because pap, which is popularly known as "akamu" in Igbo or "ogi" in Yoruba is one of the most delicious and nutritious food you can get.

Pap is made from fermented corn, which means that it is very high in carbohydrates, and as we all know, excessive consumption of starchy foods may pose some serious health challenges to us. In order to increase the health benefits of pap, it is advisable to drink it with the foods which are listed below.

1. Milk.

Milk is among the most widely consumed dairy product in the world. You can enjoy your pap with either liquid or powdered milk as both offers the same taste. Milk contain proteins and calcium which are necessary for the general well-being of the body. Adding it to your pap does not only offer you with healthy nutrients, it also improves the taste, thus making the whole experience awesome.

2. Soybean powder.

Instead of drinking pap like that, it is advisable to enjoy it with soybean because of its high-protein content. Research has shown that consumption of soybean helps in weight loss, it is also rich in fiber and antioxidants which are good for the body. Adding soybean to your pap will sure improve its taste and nutrition.

3. Honey.

Many people are not aware that honey can be enjoyed with pap. Adding a spoonful of honey to your pap will not only increase the nutritional value, it also improves the taste. Honey is very rich in antioxidants and vitamins, adding it to your pap is not a bad idea, you'll like it, trust me.

Note: Don't add sugar to your pap if you're drinking it with honey.

4. Beans.

You can't talk about popular foods in the world today without mentioning beans. Beans is enjoyed by both young and old, it is also very versatile in the sense that it can be used to prepare many other foods. Enjoying your pap with beans will provide you with nutrients such as fiber, protein, carbohydrates etc.

5. Akara.

This is one of the most popular snacks in Nigeria, it is a derivative of beans. Akara otherwise known as bean cake is a very nutritious snack. It has the same nutritional benefits as beans, but drinking it with pap is far more delicious.

6. Moi moi.

Bean pudding which is popularly known as moi-moi in Nigeria is a very healthy food. It offers amazing health benefits and taste if you combine it with pap. You should try it if you haven't.

While preparing your pap, ensure that you don't add too much sugar because it is not healthy for your body.
