But you should know that there are several other reasons why you should know your blood type. Let's first of all understand the basics about blood types.

There are four blood groups, which are: A, B, AB, and O. The blood types indicate the presence or absence of antigens and antibodies in your blood. And the Blood type is also based off of the Rh factor, the Rh factor is a protein on red blood cells, which makes your blood type negative or positive. Let's take for example, if you are Rh-positive and group A blood, that means that, you are A-positive.

For example, Persons With Type A are encouraged to eat meat-free and focus on fruits, vegetables, and beans. So knowing your blood type helps you know the right food that will benefit your health.

If two different blood types are mixed, it can cause a clumping of blood cells and that can be potentially dangerous.

Some blood types are linked to a higher risk of certain sickness and diseases. Scientists around the world are always working to identify any correlations between blood type and disease risk. For example Type AB, A, and B also have increased risks for heart disease. Type A has an increased risk of stomach cancer, but also, a higher rate of fertility. So it's important that you know you blood type because when you understand all the health conditions linked to your blood type, you can take health into your hands to alleviate other risk factors.

One of the best reasons to know your blood type is to help your loved ones when they are in need of a blood donations. It will be more easier for you to help them, knowing you have the same blood type with them, and that only happens when you have checked your blood type.
