5 STIs you can get even while using a condom

The majority of people think that condoms can help protect them 100% from STDs and STIs, but no it can only be 98% effective at protecting against most STIs like chlamydia and gonorrhea.

However, it is not all STIs that condoms can protect you from because they can be spread from skin-to-skin contact.

The problem is that not all STIs are spread through semen, meaning a condom may not be the magic shield you thought it was.

Any disease that can be spread with skin-to-skin contact is not going to be protected by a condom

While they lower the risk of those infections, they don’t completely rule all STDs out.

Here are the STIs that you can contract while your partner has things under wraps:

1. Herpes

"If a person has a herpes lesion that is on an area of the groin or pelvis that is not covered by the condom, then you can contract it from that area.

2. HPV

HPV is the most common STI for those who are se*ually active, and there are chances that you may be exposed to it at some.

HPV can be passed with skin-to-skin contact and some strains can cause genital warts and cervical cancer

3. Molluscum

Molluscum is a virus that manifests as tiny little bumps on the skin.

It is usually asymptomatic says. When a woman is infected, she will see small bumps on the vulva from two to three months after the time of infection and the bump may itch.

4. Pubic lice

Pubic lice are not very common anymore, since people groom more now, But if you're rocking a full bush, you do have a chance of catching pubic lice from an infected partner.

5. Syphilis

Syphilis can be that painless round sore around the pubic area. A condom will not protect you, depending on where the sore is located because it can be transmitted through skin contact.
