Center For Disease Control Warns Against Eating Whole Onions As It Causes Salmonella Outbreak

The Center for Disease Control has issued warning against the consumption of whole onions as the recent Salmonella outbreak has been traced to it.

It is alleged that about 37 States in the U.S have been affected by this outbreak.

The CDC stated that a company imported the onions from Mexico and distributed them to Restaurants and Grocery Stores across the United States.

The outbreak had made about 652 people between the ages of 1 and 97 years to be sick due to the consumption of this onions.

Health Officials were for some months carring out investigations to know the actual cause of the disease until it was tracked down to the consumption of the onions.

The CDC recommends that onions imported by ProSource Inc, Mexico should not be consumed. Other fresh onions that are red, white or yellow and do not have labels should also be thrown away.

They advice that any surface the onions have touched, should be washed with soap and hot water.
