MENINGITIS: Symptoms, Preventions and Complications.

Meningitis is a deadly disease which is caused by the infection of the meninges, a part of the brain which covers the skull. Both children and adult can suffer from the disease.

According to WebMD, there are many types of meninges as they comes in many form. It ranges from viral meningitis to bacterial meningitis. However, viral meningitis can go away on it's own without proper medication.

As stated earlier, meningitis can be life threatening as it has killed many people, especially children.

This dreaded disease can be detected through many ways as it carries along, a lot of symptoms.

Although this disease is very rare, yet, it can come as a result of underlying infections. People who have weak immune system are at more risk kf contracting the disease.

What are the signs that shows someone had this dreaded disease?

1. Headache.

As a result of the fact that meningitis is a disease of the brain,it comes along with migraines. A person having this symptom will find it difficult to open their eyes to bright light.

2. Stiff Neck.

This is one of the major signs of meningitis. A person suffering from meningitis will find it hard to bring down their chin to their chest.

Complications

Meningitis is a very dangerous disease that can lead to painful death. Apart from leading to death, it can also cause madness as it is a diseases that affects the brain.

Stiffness of the neck and migraine headache is already enough complication that can cause discomfort.

Preventive Measures

The preventive measures of meningitis are very easy as it should be part of people's lifestyle.

Regular washing of hands, constant practice of cleanliness and treating every disease on time to avoid break down of immune system is very important. Infants and children should be properly taken care of to avoid this disease.
