The urinary system comprises of structures and organs such as the ureter, urethra, kidney and bladder which all work together to ensure that the process of removal of waste materials in the form of urine is made possible. However, many things can go wrong with the urinary system, with such conditions collectively referred to as urological conditions or urinary disorders. Some of the most popular urologic conditions include infections of the urinary tract, kidney diseases, kidney or urinary tract stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostate cancer.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, otherwise known as prostate enlargement is one of the most common medical conditions affecting men, especially as they get older. It is a condition that is capable of blocking the free flow of urine, thus causing you to experience uncomfortable urinary symptoms, and in some cases, can even escalate to bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems. It is still largely unknown what causes prostate enlargement in men as they age, but scientists believe it may be because of changes in the balance of sex hormones in men.

Men need to note that certain risk factors may significantly increase their chances of developing prostate gland enlargement. These risk factors include ageing (the likelihood of developing the condition increases as men age), having blood relatives with prostate problems, having diabetes and heart disease, and obesity. Seeing as lifestyle factors also play huge roles in the likelihood of men developing prostate gland enlargement or not, it is advisable to avoid the avoidable or controllable risk factors.
Part of these controllable risk factors includes avoiding or limiting the consumption of certain foods that can significantly lead to prostate conditions. Some of such foods are stated below:
5. Dairy Products
6. Baked Goods
7. Processed Foods
In conclusion, while it may be impossible to avoid the food mentioned above, consuming them in moderation may help you drastically reduce some of the factors that may make you develop prostate conditions.
