Benign prostatic hyperplasia, otherwise known as prostate enlargement is one of the most common medical conditions affecting men, especially as they get older. It is a condition that is capable of blocking the free flow of urine, thus causing you to experience uncomfortable urinary symptoms, and in some cases, can even escalate to bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems. It is still largely unknown what causes prostate enlargement in men as they age, but scientists believe it may be because of changes in the balance of sex hormones in men.

Seeing as lifestyle factors also play huge roles in the likelihood of men developing prostate gland enlargement or not, it is advisable to avoid the avoidable or controllable risk factors.

Part of these controllable risk factors includes avoiding or limiting the consumption of certain foods that can significantly lead to prostate conditions. Some of such foods are stated below:

1. Beef

2. Pork

3. Sausage

4. Alcohol

5. Dairy Products

6. Baked Goods

7. Processed Foods
