FG authorises compulsory vaccination for civil servants
In its efforts to encourage vaccination rate across the country, the Presidential Steering Committee(PSC), has said that civil servants would be required to present proof of vaccination or negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), tests conducted within 72 hours to enable access to offices.
The PSC had placed a restriction on Turkey, Brazil, and South Africa due to the upsurge in the number of Covid-19 cases.
The Chairman, PSC, on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha disclosed this during the presidential press briefing on COVID-19 on Wednesday in Abuja.
CBN threatens to go tough on BVN violators
The Central Bank of Nigeria has said in its revised regulatory framework for Bank Verification Number operations that violators will be sanctioned.
It said this in a circular to all deposit money banks, mobile money operators, super agents and payment service providers titled ‘Issuance of revised regulatory framework for Bank Verification Number operations and watch-list for the Nigerian banking industry’.
Part of the circular said, “The following infractions by participants shall attract appropriate penalties:
“Misuse of the BVN watch-listing process for victimisation; improper linking of accounts/wallets (except Tier 1); and other infraction(s), as may be determined by the CBN.”
Save Nigerians your lamentations, PDP tells APC
The Peoples Democratic Party has called on the All Progressives Congress to accept its “mass failures in party management and governance and stop bothering Nigerians with their regular lamentations.”
The PDP was reacting to a statement by the APC in which it claimed to have improved the electoral process in the country.
A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, faulted the claim, saying “what abounds in our nation is a painful story of how the APC has destroyed our economy, our electoral process and our national unity, to the extent that life has become despondent to the average Nigerian.
“We accept the fact that the APC lacks the capacity for feedback mechanism, however, the PDP wishes to bring to the attention of the APC that all Nigerians today would wish this administration had come to its end.
2022: APC leaders reiterate commitment to Oyetola’s re-election
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osogbo Federal Constituency in Osun, have reiterated their supports for the re-election of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola in the 2022 governorship election.
At an endorsement programme organised for Oyetola in Osogbo on Wednesday, the party leaders said they have implicit confidence in the governor’s style of administration.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed July 16, 2022 for the governorship election in the state.
