The cause of brain tumors in adults is something that should not be overlooked. That is why in this article, I will be answering frequent questions on why people suffer from a brain tumor. In my previous article, I explained the meaning of a brain tumor and the signs to look at for.

However, in this article, I will answer why people suffer from it. And if you read the previous article carefully, you will know that many different types of tumors can start in the brain or spinal cord. And maybe unlikely to have similar symptoms.

Interestingly, the cause of most brain tumors is not fully understood, and there are very few well-established risk factors. Now the part we have been waiting for; Why people suffer from brain tumors. Researchers have found gene changes that can cause some rare inherited syndromes. Examples include von Hippel-Lindau syndrome, neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis, and Li-Fraumeni syndrome. These changes increase the risk of developing some brain tumors as well as some other cancers.

Finally, researchers now understand that some of the gene changes that occur result in different types of brain tumors. Although, it is still not clear what causes most of these changes in the gene other than been inherited. Please note that other than exposure to harmful radiation and intense tobacco (smoking), no known lifestyle-related or environmental factors are linked to brain tumors.
