Bed wetting or urinating while sleeping is often regarded as a natural and harmless occurence in young children. But it is not same for older people especially men. Adult bedwetting is usually a cause for concern as there are certain health conditions responsible for this problem in most cases.

So, in this article, we are going to have a look at some of the reasons why some older men bed wet. If you are very much older or suppose to have outgrown bedwetting but you see yourself bed wetting literally every night you go to bed, there might be need.to see a doctor as that is often due to an underlying health problem. Just sit tight and enjoy this article whilst learning something new.

What Are The Medical Reasons Why Some Older Men Urinate While Sleeping?

1. Diabetes; if you are suffering from diabetes and perhaps you are not taking decisive measures to maintain or bring down your blood sugar level, it can get to the extent where you start urinating while asleep. This is because your kidneys are working around the clock to get rid of excess sugar in the blood stream. So frequent bedwetting can be a sign of diabetes in adults.

2. Prostate Cancer Or Enlargement; when a person gets older, he gets more prone to certain health conditions for which prostate cancer or enlargement becomes more likely to develop. If you are suffering from prostate cancer that you may not have diagnosed, you might be bedwetting. This is one of the causes of bedwetting in adult males. So ensure you get checked once you start bedwetting.

3. Urinary Tract Infection; this is another medical reason for adult male bedwetting. If you start bed wetting as an adult, do well to see your doctor, explain the issue to him and after proper checkup, he will tell you whether your bedwetting problem is due to a urinary tract infection.

4. Bladder Problems such as an overactive bladder disorder. If your bladder is overactive or the nerves are overactive, that could be an explanation to your bedwetting problem. This is usually an easier problem that can be handled by simply adjusting your lifetsyle and learning to retain urine whenever it worries you.
