I know what you are thinking, living longer? Although we have no control over our lives but when it comes to what to do to have a long life, longetivity experts have all kinds of things to say about it. 1. Make sleep your priority

You will ignore taking care of your health of you don't sleep better. Go to bet when it is right, sleep well and wake up at the right time. Avoid things that can disturb your sleep like smartphones, flashing screens, games, loud music, and electronics. Don't forget to make your sleeping area relaxing, calming, and cool.

2. Always move your body

No matter where you are and what you do, it isn't very easy to stay stationary and not moving around. Although, many of our white collar jobs require us to remain seated for a very long time, it is very important for our health to remain active and moving around often. Apart from controlling your weight and make you feel better, moving around will makes you age well, keep your health in control and makes you live longer. 

3. Take good care of your health 

One of the most important things you can do if you really want to live long is to take care of your health. Most of us neglect our health while running for our day-to-day activities. You should be able to prevent a health problem before it occurs and not treating it after it happens. To do this, eat healthy foods, exercise often, get enough sleep and don't forget to take your vitamins and minerals. There are other things we can do to improve our health. 

4. Laugh a Lot

As we all know, laughter is the best medicine and this is also a medicine to live longer. When you laugh, your mood will get elevated, your mind will be clear and you will feel great and lighter. In addition to these, you will shed away fear and anxiety from your mind. Doing this may also let you live longer. 

5. Eat Whole Foods

If you want to live longer through what you eat, you should be eating a healthy diet that is full of whole foods. According to research, people who live on whole foods tends to live longer than others who live on processed foods. This is because whole foods has no processed sugar, salt and othera in them. Some of the plant-based whole foods you can start eating include legumes, fruits and vegetables. Learn how to cook better foods and make sure you reduce your processed foods considerably. You will feel better and live longer. 

6. Go Outside Every Day

Many of us don't go outside everyday because we don't know the effect of nature on our health. Nature has a special way of healing us of some health conditions. You may not get most of this natural feeling if you live in an apartment or in a city. Many people go for vacation and holiday in different gardens because they understand the effects of nature on our health. To do the same, go for a walk, go swimming or take a hike. If you can't do any of these, you can grow some plants in your apartment! 

7. Focus on Breathing

Of course we all breath! But do you know the art of breathing? Breathing can slow down the heart rate especially when you are stressed. Once you breathe well, you will be able to get rid of stress. There are simple breathing exercises you can practice anytime especially when you are worried and overwhelmed. This is because having negative emotions can affect your health over time and thereby reducing your chances of living long and healthy.
