Symptoms of ovarian cancer in women

Ovarian cancer relates to any cancerous growth that starts in the ovary. This is the part of the female body that produces eggs. That is why all women need to know the causes of ovarian cancer and ways to avoid it. 

Causes and risk factors

Some of the causes and risk factors of ovarian cancer include; family history, age, reproductive history, breast cancer, hormone therapy, obesity and overweight, gynecologic surgery, human papillomavirus (HPV), having high levels of androgens, or male hormones, etc. All women should try and avoid manageable risk factors. 

There are certain signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer that all women need to pay attention to. Some of them include; 

1. Abdominal pain. 

2. Pain or pressure in the pelvis. 

3. Unexpected female organ bleeding. 

4. Pain in the back or abdomen. 

5. Bloating. 

6. Feeling full rapidly when eating. 

7. Alterations in urination patterns, such as more frequent urination. 

8. Modifications in bowel habits, such as constipation. 

Other signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer include; 

1. Nausea and indigestion. 

2. Appetite loss. 

3. Weight loss. 

4. Breathlessness. 

5. Fatigue.
