7 Signs That Indicate You Are Suffering From Ear Infections and Preventive Measures To Take

Do you know that rainy months can bring a whole lot of infections as a result of bacteria growth associated with humidity? In this article, I will share with you effective ways to protect your ears. The ear is another delicate part of the body that requires proper attention.

According to health experts in the Times of India, the rainy season brings relief from long exposure to heat and makes everything around bright and beautiful. However, it is also the season when many people complain of bacterial and fungal infections. The rapid increase in humidity makes it a perfect condition for bacteria and fungus to thrive.

Bacteria and fungus can affect various parts of the ear like the inner ear, middle ear, and external ear. The infection in the ear can also be caused by flu or cold as well as allergies. Studies have shown that the incidences of ear infections can increase six to ten times during the rainy season.

However, here are some early signs that indicate you are suffering from an ear infection.

1. Temporary hearing loss

2. Formation of pus and discharge from the ear

3. Discomfort or ache in the ear

Furthermore, the following are the symptoms of fungal ear infections.

4. Redness or inflammation in the outer ear

5. The skin close to the ear becomes rough and starts to peel off.

6. Constant headache with serious pain.

7. Swelling and itching sensation.

After taking a look at some signs it is essential to know some preventive measures. So here are some of the most effective ways to prevent ear infections during the rainy season.

Avoid sharing devices like earpieces or phones and if you must use it should be disinfected. Apply ear drops only after consultation with a specialist and if there is any pain or discomfort in the ear, I recommend you go for a check-up immediately without any delay.

Furthermore, clean your earphones with disinfectants properly to prevent any type of infection in the ear. Check your ears for earwax and instead of cleaning them at home, it is a good idea to visit the doctor to clean the ears.

Keep your ears clean always, avoid inserting sharp objects into your ears and dry your ears with a clean cloth after taking a bath.

Finally, it is important to keep the ear dry and clean. Also, health is a serious topic and therefore should not be a joke about. That is why I will continue to share with you more health topics on how to stay and live a healthy life.
